RESEARCH INTERESTS
Dr. Michel's substantive research focuses on (1) the dynamics between work and family, and (2) the role of personality in regards to organizational behavior. Within the work-family domain, his focus has been on the construct of work-family conflict along with the predictive power of these and other work-family linking mechanisms. Within the area of personality, Dr. Michel's focus has been on the development and validation of a new social-cognitive approach to the conception and measurement of leader behavior. He has termed this construct “leadership coherence” harking back to the seminal works on personality coherence. Dr. Michel also enjoys writing humor pieces for TIP.
