Founding Faculty Member Dr. Janat Fraser Parker
Dr. Janat Fraser Parker has retired after 35 years of teaching, research and service. Dr. Parker was one of the first faculty members in the Department of Psychology and the entire university. An active member of the university community, Dr. Parker is well known and loved by colleagues, students and friends. Her retirement party, held on April 15th in the Faculty Club, was filled to capacity.
Student have always loved taking Dr. Parker’s courses in memory and children's learning. At the graduate level, she worked on numerous graduate students’ thesis and dissertation committees. Other students built a close relationship with her as students in the Liberal Studies Program, of which she was director for over 20 years.
